How Long Does Botox® Last?

Botox® and Dysport® results are temporary but long-lasting. Most patients enjoy smoother, refreshed skin for approximately 3 to 4 months after treatment.

You may begin to notice results within 3–5 days, with full results typically developing around 10–14 days. As the treatment gradually wears off, muscle activity slowly returns and lines may begin to reappear.

With consistent treatments, many patients find their results can last longer over time as the targeted muscles become trained to relax.

To ensure optimal results, we include a complimentary two-week touch-up appointment when you follow your provider’s recommended dosage. This allows your provider to refine your treatment if needed and make sure your Botox or Dysport settles beautifully.

Botox® vs Dysport®: What’s the Difference?

Botox® and Dysport® are both FDA-approved wrinkle relaxer treatments used to soften fine lines and dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions like smiling, frowning, or squinting. Both work by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles, allowing the skin above them to appear smoother and more refreshed while still maintaining natural expression.

How Many Units of Botox Are Needed?

The number of Botox® or Dysport® units needed depends on several factors, including the treatment area, muscle strength, facial anatomy, and your desired results. Because every face is unique, your provider will determine the exact dosage during your consultation to ensure natural, balanced results.

Most Botox treatments fall within the following unit ranges:

  • Glabella (11s between the brows): 15–25 units
